Anne-Lise Agossa

Anne-Lise Agossa (b.1997) is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and architectural designer.
Rooted in the complex relationship between culture and space, Anne-Lise’s practice is focused on bridging the gap between past and future, within and around the African context. Particularly influenced by the geo-cultural landscape of Western Africa, the Sahel and their oral and material tradition, her practice explores cosmologies and mythologies, identities and cultural practices; by conceptualising hybrid visual worlds.

Raised between several West African countries while being influenced by elements of Western culture and her travels, Anne-Lise’s body of work explores the parallels and in-betweenness of cultures, identities and their visual markers.

This is done through research, image-making, design, sculpture, and installation.
She works primarily with textile, metal and wood.
